An early departure from the hotel for the CAT Ferry Terminal. We board the CAT for our sailing to Yarmouth, NS. Upon our arrival in Canada we travel through Customs before heading to Mahone Bay along the lighthouse route. We overnight tonight in this area. Breakfast and Dinner
Day Three
This morning after breakfast we continue east stopping at Lunenberg, the ship-building center where the “Blue Nose” was built. We continue to Peggy’s Cove, a uniquely rugged fishing village centered around a narrow ocean inlet and dominated by the famous lighthouse which is perched high up on huge, wave-washed granite boulders. From Peggy’s Cove we travel to Halifax, where we’ll spend the night. Breakfast and Dinner
Day Four
We’ll begin with a Tour of the City. Halifax is Nova Scotia’s largest city and is dominated by a fortress called “The Citadel”. The Halifax Public Gardens are based on the Victorian formal garden plans of St. James Park in England and are a joy to walk in at any time. After our tour, we depart for Cape Breton Island where we’ll spend the next two nights. The Canso Causeway joins the island to the main section of Nova Scotia. Most of the province is surrounded by water; the Atlantic Ocean & the North Umberland Strait. Baddeck was the summer home of Alexander Graham Bell. Here a museum is dedicated to his work. Dinner is served at the hotel this evening. Breakfast and Dinner
Day Five
Today is spent on the Cabot Trail, with its spectacular scenery. This is known as one of the most beautiful drives in North America. We will stop along the way for picture taking, admiring the views and visiting a shop with native crafted goods. It is very possible that we will see eagles and perhaps even a moose today! Breakfast and Dinne
Day Six
We bid goodbye to Cape Breton Island as we depart for Caribou and the ferry to Prince Edward Island. The crossing takes approximately 1 1⁄4 hours. We’ll briefly stop in Charlottetown before checking into our hotel for the evening. Tonight we enjoy a dinner served at the hotel. Breakfast and Dinne
Day Seven
The morning is spent touring the island. The many shades of green along with the blue of the sky and sea and red of the rich soil make Prince Edward Island a photographers dream. We will visit the home of Anne of Green Gables along with other attractions. This afternoon we visit Cavendish Beach and North Rustico before returning to the hotel. Tonight, we enjoy a lobster dinner served at the hotel. (Breakfast &, Lobster Dinner)
Day Eight
Then we’re off to Borden where we cross over the new bridge to Cape Tormentine, New Brunswick.
